H andmade birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Azure Afternoon Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 5-1/4" of different colored stars on white background design from Bright & Beautiful 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper
- 2-1/2" x 3" from Basic White Cardstock
- 3/4" x 3-1/2" from Azure Afternoon Cardstock
- 1" x 1-3/4" from Azure Afternoon Cardstock
Insert the 4" x 5-1/4" white rectangle into the crosshatched embossing folder from the Basics 3D Embossing Folders set. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to make sure it is lined up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Adhere the strip of Bright & Beautiful Designer Paper to the center of the vertical, dry embossed white rectangle.
As you are ready to stamp using the Beautiful Balloons Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the large, solid balloon image from the Beautiful Balloons Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Azure Afternoon Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the smaller white rectangle.
Mount the "so thrilled for you," "happy birthday," "yay you!," or "you did it!" sentiment from the Beautiful Balloons Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Blueberry Bushel Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the stamped balloon image at a slight angle.
Pick out the large open balloon die from the Beautiful Balloons Dies. Put it on top of the stamped balloon image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Tahitian Tide twine from the 2022-2024 In Color Baker's Twine Pack.
Use a Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the twine to the back of the balloon cut out so the twine will hang down from the bottom of the balloon.
Put more Stampin' Dimensionals on the back of the balloon. Remove the protective backings and adhere the balloon with twine attached to the center of the designer paper strip about 1/4" from the top edge.
Unlock the Banners Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the 3/4" x 3-1/2" Azure Afternnon strip into the right side of the punch (the side of the punch with the inward notch) as far as it will go and get it centered. Punch.
Mount the "I think it's time for a celebration" sentiment from the Beautiful Balloons Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Blueberry Bushel Ink Pad. Stamp it on the punched strip so it is closer to the notched end with the notched end on the left side.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the punched sentiment strip to the white/designer paper rectangle so it covers the bottom of the twine hanging from the balloon and is about 1/2" from the bottom edge. Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off excess cardstock on the right edge.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off excess twine at the bottom of the card as needed.
Adhere the white/designer paper rectangle with balloon and sentiment strip attached to the front of the Azure Afternoon card.
Pick out the solid tassel die from the Beautiful Balloons Dies. Put it on top of the small rectangle of Azure Afternoon on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Use a small dot of Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen on the back of the tassel cut out at the top to adhere it to the card front so it is hanging from the bottom of the balloon on the left side at a slight angle as shown.
Cut a 9" piece of the Tahitian Tide twine from the 2022-2024 In Color Baker's Twine Pack.
Tie a small bow in the center of the twine. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot you've squished down in size to adhere the twine bow to the bottom of the balloon as shown.
