Project Recipe
Cut Whisper White Thick card stock 4.5 x 10, score from one end at 5/8, 1 3/4, 3 and from the other end at 5/8 only.
This will be the back and base for the calendar piece
Cut a second piece of Whisper White Thick 4.5 x 6.5
This will be the art piece onto which the background for the calendar will be stamped
Stamp the large tree from Golden Afternoon stamp set with Archival Black ink. Stamp it approximately 5/8 to 3/4 from the bottom so that when the calendar is attached it doesn't cover up the tree.
Use Blender Pens to color the leaves of the tree with Old Olive, the grass with Granny Apple Green and the trunk and branches of the tree with Crumb Cake.
Stamp some ink from Granny Apple Green ink pad onto a clear acrylic block, add a small drop of Glycerine gel and blend with the sponge. Sponge this color around the bottom of the tree around the grassy area and across the front of the art piece.
TIP: You will sponge right over the top of your colored image and it will blend beautifully and will not damage the image at all. Just don't rub too hard or for too long)
Stamp some ink from Blueberry Bushel ink pad onto a clear block, add a small drop of Glycerine gel and blend with a Stamping Sponge. With circular motion add blue to the sky area. (test on scrap first to make sure the color isn't too dark, you can always add more color if you need to)
Stamp the birds from Golden Afternoon and the sentiment from Lasting Lily with Black Archival ink
Use Aleene's Quick Dry Tacky Glue to attach the art piece to the back piece by applying glue to the two small tabs and lining up the art piece.
(I use this glue because Snail does not hold well when there is tension on the piece you are attaching and has a tendency to fall apart after sitting for a while.
Once the art piece is attached to the back it creates an easel and will stand on its own.
Place Aleene's Quick Dry tacky glue to the back of the mini calendar and glue in place on the art piece.
