T his card was made using a fun fold technique, I mixed some new product with old. Stampin Up! Fine Art Floral Suite.
Project Recipe
Cut for your card base a piece of 8 ½" X 11" paper in half widthwise. You now have two pieces 8 ½" X 5 ½". Fold one of the pieces in half lengthwise for your card front. The card front now measures 4 ¼" X 5 ½". Now score at the 1-3/4" mark for the second fold. This will fold back to make the fun fold.
You are going to stamp on the card base using a stamp of your choice. I used the flower from the Fine Art Galley Suite. I first stamped the main image in Coastal Cabana and then the highlighted image in Bermuda Bay. Most of this will not be visible it just adds some nice texture.
Cut a piece of ribbon approximately 5-1/2" long. This will only be adhered under the designer series paper that you are going to put on next. Unless you put it on backwards and then you will see the cut ends when you open the fun fold. If that happens adhere the entire 1-3/4" flap down and it will cover us this.
Next you will cut a piece of designer series paper at 3-1/4" x 5-1/4". When you adhere this layer onto the1-3/4" fun fold flap be sure only put adhesive on the area that will be attached to the 1-3/4" . Otherwise you will adhere the entire front down and you will not want to do that.
Cut out the largest die from the Stitched So Sweetly Die set. This layer you will also want to be aware if you adhere it down so some of it hangs over the fun fold. Be sure not to put adhesive over the fold. Or you will complete glue this down and no longer have a fun fold. As me how I know. :)
You will now cut a piece of cardstock 2-5/8"x3-3/4". This layer you will adhere to the Stitched So Sweetly layer. I added some flicked background to this card piece. It was done using the White Frost Shimmer paint mixed with the highland heather ink refill. I used a old wink of stella pen to use to flick this onto the card. Jump over to my Youtube channel for a video on how to do this. Be sure to set this aside to dry before you add the flowers. I set it in front of a heater and it dried very quickly.
Stamp your flowers in Highland Heather and then the highlighted in Gorgeous Grape. Stamp the stem in Old Olive. You will pop this layer up using Stampin Dimensionals.
Take a scrap of Flirty Flamingo and stamp your sentiment on this. I used Gorgeous Grape and stamped the sentiment Happy Mothers Day from the Dressed to Impressed Stamp set.
The finishing touch for the front of the card is to add your favorite embellishment. Here I add the gold enamel dots but you could you some of the retired enamel dots also. They look fabulous.
Be sure to stamp a matching image to the inside of the card and the trick to making sure that the inside does not show is you cut the cardstock to 4"x5-1/8" and make sure that you adhere it closer to the fold line. I usually do a dry run so you know exactly where you need it to be. Lastly, be sure to decorate your envelope.
