S pringy birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Sweet Sorbet Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Pool Party Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2" x 3-7/8" of rows of pink, red, and blue flower bouquets on white background design from Bee Mine 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, cut so the flowers are vertical on the horizontal rectangle
- 2-1/2" x 3-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
As you are ready to stamp using the Heartfelt Hexagon Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the flower stem image from the Heartfelt Hexagon Set on Block C. Ink up only the stem and leaves using the side of the brush tip of the Parakeet Party Marker. Breathe on the image to moisten the ink. Stamp the image on the vertical white rectangle so the uninked flower is about 1-1/2" from the top and about 3/8" from the left edge. Re-ink the stamp in the same way and stamp it just to the right of the first image and slightly higher. Re-ink the stamp in the same way and stamp it just to the right of the second image and slightly lower. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy, but leave it on the block.
Use the side of the brush tip of the Sweet Sorbet Marker to carefully ink up only the flower at the top of the stem. Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink. Carefully stamp the flower at the top of one of the previously stamped green stem images so the uninked leaves line up and the flower is at the top of the stem. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy, but leave it on the block.
Repeat the previous step, but this time use the Petal Pink Marker. Clean the stamp, but leave it on the block.
Repeat the previous step, but this time use the Pool Party Marker. Clean the stamp and put it away.
If desired, use the fine tips of the markers to fill in the stamped petals of the flowers.
Insert the stamped, white rectangle into the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Adhere the piece of Bee Mine Designer Paper to the bottom of the stamped and dry embossed white layer leaving a thin line of white showing on the left, bottom, and right edges.
Adhere the layered white rectangle to the center of the Pool Party rectangle.
Cut a 4-3/4" piece of the Sweet Sorbet 1/4" Bordered Ribbon. Lay the ribbon across the layered cardstock/designer paper rectangle so it covers the top seam between the designer paper and the cardstock. Fold the ends of the ribbon over and secure the ribbon in place on the back with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the Pool Party rectangle. Adhere the rectangle to the front of the Sweet Sorbet card.
Mount the hatched edge tag outline from the Heartfelt Hexagon Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Pool Party Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the vertical 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" white strip so it is vertical leaving room to punch it out.
Mount the "I hope your day is filled with joy" sentiment from the Heartfelt Hexagon Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Sweet Sorbet Ink Pad. Stamp it inside the stamped tag outline on the white strip so it is centered in the outline.
Unlock the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch. Hold the punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the stamped tag image into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment label punch out to the front of the card so it is centered over the ribbon on the left side about 3/4" from the left edge. It should overlap the bottoms of the stems.
Cut a 3" piece of the Sweet Sorbet 1/4" Bordered Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the front of the card as shown so it is centered over the ribbon already on the card just to the left of the sentiment label punch out.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 1 large and 1 small Pool Party and 1 small Petal Pink dots from a sheet of Rainbow Adhesive-Backed Dots making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the front of the card as shown so they are in a rough triangle in the upper right corner.
