Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Real Red Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic Black Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" of diagonal red plaid design from Most Adored 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 3-1/4" x 4-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
Adhere the piece of Most Adored Designer Paper to the center of the Basic Black rectangle and then to the front of the Real Red card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Biggest Wish Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the block "thanks" word from the Biggest Wish Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it on the left side of the vertical white rectangle near the left edge and top. Re-ink the stamp and stamp it three more times right below each previous word as closely as possible. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time and stamp as closely as possible to the bottom of the previous word.
Pick out the rectangle die that cuts out a rectangle that is 3" x 4-3/8" from the Deckled Rectangles Dies. Put it on top of the stamped white rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the "thanks" words are as close as possible to the left, top, and bottom edges. It's okay if you cut a bit of the bottom word off at the bottom Run through the machine.
Mount the toucan image from the Jungle Pals Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on the right side of the rectangle cut out so his bill just overlaps the top of the "s" on the third "thanks" from the top.
Mount the script "friend" word from the Biggest Wish Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on the right side of the rectangle cut out so it is just below the foot of the toucan and overlaps the right side of the third and fourth "thanks" words a bit as shown.
Place the stamped rectangle cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends to color in the center section of the toucan's bill and the eye.
Use the Light and Dark Real Red Stampin' Blends to color in the rest of the toucan's bill and his tongue.
Use the Light and Dark Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends to color in the toucan's back, wings, top feathers, and tail feathers. Leave his belly white.
Use the side of the brush tip of the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to carefully outline the edges of the rectangle cut out.
Adhere the rectangle cut out to the center of the card front.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 1 large and 2 small red hearts from a sheet of Adhesive-Backed Hearts & Flowers making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the front of the card as shown above the toucan's head.
Cut a 3" piece of the Black & White 1/4" Gingham Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the front of the card at a slight angle as shown so it overlaps the lower right corner of the rectangle cut out.
