Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Balmy Blue Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Daffodil Delight Cardstock
- 3" x 3-1/2" from Granny Apple Green Cardstock
- 3-3/8" square of white and light blue raindrops on blue background design from Pleased As Punch Designer Series Paper
- 1-1/4" x 4" of rainbow stripes design from Pleased As Punch Designer Series Paper, cut so the stripes are vertical on the horizontal strip
- 2 pieces each 1" x 1-3/4" from Granny Apple Green Cardstock
- 2 pieces each 1" x 2-1/4" from Daffodil Delight Cardstock
- 1" x 2-1/4" from Blushing Bride Cardstock
- 1" x 2-1/4" from Mango Melody Cardstock
Mount the "Thinking of You," "Thank You!," "Happy Birthday!," "You're so Sweet!," or "Hey, Lady!" sentiment from the Little Ladybug Set on an appropriate size block. Ink it up with the Mango Melody Ink Pad. Stamp it in the lower right corner of the large Daffodil Delight rectangle as close to the bottom as possible.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the strip of striped Pleased As Punch Designer Paper across the stamped Daffodil Delight rectangle just above the stamped sentiment.
Mount the line of small ladybugs image from the Little Ladybug Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Mango Melody Ink Pad. Stamp it just above the strip of designer paper so the right edge almost touches the right edge of the Daffodil Delight rectangle.
Pick out the smooth circle die from the Layering Circles Dies that cuts out a circle that is 3" diameter. Put it on top of the raindrops Pleased As Punch Designer Paper square on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool.
Adhere the raindrops paper circle cut out to the stamped Daffodil Delight rectangle so the bottom right just covers the left edge of the stamped line of ladybugs. Make sure the raindrops are pointing straight down. Let the left edge of the circle hang off the edge. Use Paper Snips to trim off the excess designer paper.
Adhere the strip of striped designer paper to the Daffodil Delight rectangle so it overlaps the bottom of the raindrops circle and is just below the line of stamped ladybugs.
Pick out the large circle with flowers inside die from the Sending Flowers Dies. Put it on top of the larger Granny Apple Green rectangle on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so you cut out most of the line of flowers. Don't worry about getting the rest of the circle, you are going to be cutting it all off anyway. Run through the tool. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces,
Cut loose the section of flowers, leaves, and stems so you have a large 5-petal flower on the right side and a small tulip on the left side with 5 other flowers in between.
Use Fine-Tip Glue Pen or Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the cut out section of flowers to the Daffodil Delight rectangle so the flower on the right touches the upper right curve of the raindrops circle and the flower and stem on the left almost touch the left edge. The bottoms will overlap the strip of designer paper about half-way.
Pick out both of the bunches of grass dies from the Ladybugs Dies. Put them on top of the small Granny Apple Green rectangles on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the tool.
Adhere the bunches of grass cut outs to the bottom of the stems of the flowers cut out. The bunches of grass will overlap a bit, Trim off excess on the left edge if needed using Paper Snips.
Cut a 4-1/2" piece of Whisper White 1/4" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the rectangle so it covers the seam between the bottom of the grass bunches cut outs and the designer paper. Secure the ribbon in place on the back with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add SNAIL to the back of the Daffodil Delight rectangle. Adhere the rectangle to the front of the Balmy Blue card.
Pick out the two groupings of flower tops dies from the Sending Flowers Dies. Put them on top of SINGLE layers of Daffodil Delight, Blushing Bride, and Mango Melody Cardstock on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the tool. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces as needed. Repeat until you have cut out two groups of flowers from the Daffodil Delight Cardstock and one group of flowers each from the Blushing Bride and Mango Melody Cardstock,
Use the Fine-Tip Glue Pen or Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the flower tops over the tops of the flowers on the flowers cut out. I used Daffodil Delight on the tulips and Blushing Bride and Mango Melody on the daisies.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a circle and a flower green sequin from a sheet of Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the centers of the Mango Melody daisy flowers.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a circle and a flower Grapefruit Grove sequin from a sheet of Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the centers of the Blushing Bride daisy flowers.
Cut a 4" piece of Whisper White 1/4" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon.
Slide one end of the ribbon under the ribbon already on the card so it is near the right edge of the grass bunches cut outs. Tie in place with a half knot. Trim the ends.
