Watch this video on Youtube. You will learn some great tips on how to make this card.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Wuk7bhUUsI
After you watch the video check out the following instructions as I give you measurments that she doesn't in the video.
Cut Smokey Slate card stock 5.5 x 8.5 and score at 4.25 and fold to make a standard A2 top fold greeting card.
Cut Whisper White 4 x 5.25
Place the die that cuts the two openings for the slider on this, centering it and run it through the Big Shot.
Use the Pine Planks embossing folder to emboss this piece
Use mini dimensionals to attach the washers. Two in the top notch and two in the bottom notch. It is best to line the dimensionals up so that the flat edges glide against the notched opening. I used #8 washers. they worked perfectly.
Turn this piece over after attaching the washers and cut 4 foam adhesive strips 5" long and attach them to the back one above and one below the notches staying as close as you can to the notch without interfering with the washers
Once the foam adhesive strips are attached, adhere this piece to the card front.
Cut a piece of Whisper White 2.5 x 3.75
Stamp the door image onto this with Smokey Slate ink
Cut it out with the retangular die
Cut the two hinges, one handle and one long thin strip from Basic Black card stock using the approprate dies.
Use Liquid Glue to attach the hinges to the top of the door and to place the handle where yo want it to be
On the card front place a glue dot on each of the four washers.
Push the two washers top and bottom to the far left as far as they will go. Line up the left side of your door so the washed are covered and press it onto the washers.
Push the two remaining washers to the far right as far as they will go, line up the door with this side and adhere.
Your sliding mechanisim is complete.
To create the art piece that will go behind the door cut a mat from Basic Black card stock 2 1/5 x 4 1/8
Cut a piece of Whisper White card stock 2 3/8 x 4
Attach the white piece to the black mat using Snail adhesive.
Do not put adhesive on this piece yet. Slide it behind the door placing it where it will be when completed, slide the door all the way to the left and make a light pencil mark on the piece. HOlding it in place slide the door all the way to the right and again make a light pencil mark on the white.
Pull it out and you will see a gap between the two marks where the picture cannot be seen. It is dead space that the door always covers.
Now stamp your art piece however you want keeping your images in the space marked. I used Basket of Wishes stamp set for this card.
Once your piece is completed put Snail adhesive on the back and carefully slide it into place making sure it is positioned correctly and the door covers it at both ends.
