Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Soft Succulent Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Soft Succulent Cardstock
- 2" x 3-3/4" of rows of various dark green plants on mottled white and green background design from In The Wild 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, cut so the lines of plants are horizontal on the horizontal rectangle
- 1-1/8" x 5" of lines of green vines on mottled white and green background design from In The Wild 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, cut so the lines of vines are vertical on the vertical rectangle
- 2" x 3-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
Insert the large Soft Succulent rectangle into the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Adhere the large rectangle of large plants In The Wild Designer Paper to the dry embossed Soft Succulent rectangle so it is centered side to side and is about 3/4" from the bottom.
Adhere the skinny strip of vines In The Wild Designer Paper to the dry embossed Soft Succulent rectangle so it is centered top to bottom and is about 1/4" from the left edge.
Adhere the dry embossed Soft Succulent rectangle with designer paper pieces attached to the front of the Soft Succulent card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Turtle Friends Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the large turtle outline image from the Turtle Friends Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Evening Evergreen Ink Pad. Stamp it on the one end of the white rectangle leaving room to punch it out.
Unlock the Turtle Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped turtle on the white cardstock into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Put the punched out turtle on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Light and Dark Soft Succulent Stampin' Blends to color in the turtle.
Mount the "It's time to Shell-ebrate" shell shaped sentiment from the Turtle Friends Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Evening Evergreen Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the turtle's shell.
Use the paper-piercing tool and the Stampin' Pierce Mat to poke a hole in the turtle's eye. Insert a small, black, circle brad from the Round & Square Brads into the hole. Bend the prongs flat in one direction down the turtle's neck on the back side.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the colored and stamped turtle punch out with brad attached for the eye to the front of the card so it overlaps the two pieces of designer paper where they overlap on the upper edge as shown.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Soft Succulent 3/8" Open Weave Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the front of the card at a slight angle where the designer paper pieces meet on the lower edge as shown.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up one large Soft Succulent jewel and two small Evening Evergreen jewels from a sheet of 2021-2023 In Color Jewels making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the upper right corner of the card in a rough triangle.
