P layful card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Balmy Blue Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2" x 4" of small Balmy Blue gingham design from Country Gingham 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper
-1" square of small Balmy Blue gingham design from Country Gingham 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper
Pick out the stitched rectangle die that cuts out a rectangle that is 2-5/8" x 4" from the Stitched Rectangles Dies. Put it on the vertical white rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered. Run through the machine. KEEP BOTH PIECES!
Remove the die and place both pieces together on your work surface with a piece of Grid Paper underneath to protect your work surface.
Mount the laying down cat image on Block E. Carefully ink up ONLY the cat and the line he's laying on using the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker. If desired, ink up only portions of the cat to make the cat have black spots. Just be sure to ink up the edges of the stamp and the eyes and whiskers. Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink. Stamp it on the bottom of the white rectangle so the line the cat is laying on is just above one of the lines of the stitched rectangle bottom and the cat's tail hangs off the right side. The cat's tail will hang off the bottom of the big rectangle as well.
Tip: I cut the group of hearts off of my stamp so I could stamp them separately anywhere I want easily. This means the stamp will fit on Block I as well.
Mount the cat hanging from a line image from the Love Cats Set on Block I. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it across the white rectangle so it is centered side to side and the back of the cat is about 1/4" from the top of the stitched rectangle.
Use the fine tip of the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to continue drawing the line the cat is hanging from out to the edges of the large rectangle. Also, if desired, use the fine tip of the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to make little dots to fill in any uninked spaces on the stamped cats as needed.
Remove the stamped stitched white rectangle from the center of the outer white rectangle.
Adhere the strip of Country Gingham Designer Paper to the center of the larger white rectangle.
Tip: Work on top of the Silicone Craft Sheet to keep things from sticking to your work surface.
Adhere the white rectangle with designer paper attached to the front of the Balmy Blue card.
Mount the "I love hanging out with you" sentiment from the Love Cats Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Balmy Blue Ink Pad. Stamp it on the stitched white rectangle so it is centered side to side and centered between the cats.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the stitched white rectangle to the front of the card so it is centered in the cut out opening.
Pick out one of the sets of two little hearts dies from the Conversation Bubbles Dies. Put it on top of the small square of designer paper on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the blue plaid side is face up. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces as needed.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere one of the heart cut outs to the center of the heart being held by the hanging cat and adhere the other one just to the left and above the laying down cat.
Cut a 30" piece of the Tahitian Tide twine from the 2022-2024 In Color Baker's Twine Pack.
Fold the twine in thirds. Tie a small bow in the center of the folded twine. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the twine bow to the card front so it overlaps the left side of the stitched rectangle where the top line goes across.
