A dorable holiday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Fresh Freesia Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Misty Moonlight Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" of tiny purple snowflakes and white dots on light purple background design from Penguin Playmates 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 2-3/8" x 3-7/8" from Misty Moonlight Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 3-7/8" from Basic White Cardstock
- 3/4" x 1" from Basic White Cardstock
Adhere the piece of Penguin Playmates Designer Paper to the large Misty Moonlight rectangle.
As you are ready to stamp using the Penguin Place Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top to protect the Mat from ink.
Mount the snowbank swoosh image from the Penguin Place Set on Block I. Ink it up with the Misty Moonlight Ink Pad. Stamp the swoosh across the bottom of the large, horizontal white rectangle so the thick part of the swoosh almost touches the bottom edge and the ends go off the sides. Make sure you leave room to stamp your penguin and his hat.
Mount the sliding penguin image from the Penguin Place Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Jet Black StazOn Ink Pad or Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp the penguin on the left edge of the large, horizontal white rectangle so his belly just touches the top of the previously stamped swoosh.
Mount the tiny, horizontal beak image from the Penguin Place Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Misty Moonlight Ink Pad. Stamp the beak on the large, horizontal white rectangle so the flat side just touches the penguin's face.
Mount the hat image from the Penguin Place Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Fresh Freesia Ink Pad. Stamp the hat on the large, horizontal white rectangle so the base of the hat just touches the top of the penguin's head.
Mount the "season's greetings" or "happy birthday" sentiment from the Penguin Place Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Misty Moonlight Ink Pad. Stamp the sentiment on the large, horizontal white rectangle in the upper right corner.
Adhere the stamped white rectangle to the center of the small Misty Moonlight rectangle (the left and right edges will line up).
Adhere the matted white rectangle to the matted designer paper so it is about 7/8" from the top (the left and right edges of the matted white rectangle will line up with the left and right edges of the designer paper).
Adhere the matted rectangles to the front of the Fresh Freesia card.
Mount the scarf image from the Penguin Place Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Fresh Freesia Ink Pad. Stamp the scarf on the small white rectangle.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out the scarf image by hand.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the scarf cut out to the penguin's neck.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up one large or small Misty Moonlight gem from the sheet of 2020-2022 In Color Square Gems making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the bottom right corner of the card front so it is a diamond shape.
