I
made this card for a friend for her mother-in-law. She wanted a WOW card so I hope I pulled it off.
This was my first attempt at making roses and the vellum butterfly.
I used mostly Stampin' Up! products but choose to use some dies from Spellbinders.
Project Recipe
This is an A7 card because I wanted the card to make a statement.
I started with a Melon Mambo for the base. I used Island Indigo for the bigger Die frame.
I stamped vellum with VersaMark and heat embossed black embossing powder.
Then I used Coptic markers to color the butterfly on the back. Once colored, I Die cut it and folded the winds up and adhered with dimensional just in the middle of the butterfly.
I used a Spellbinder Die by the name 'Create a Rose' to make the roses. I used Pretty in Pink, Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo card stock.
To create the Bee I first stamped on vellum with versa Mark Inc. and use black embossing powder and then heat set it. Once that was dry I used Copic Y15 marker and colored the yellow from behind it.
I used to bee die from the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Die set and I really like the way the wings came out.
I applied the ribbon and a little different way than I normally would. I wrapped it around the card on the lower left corner around the back and up to the upper right corner and tied a bowl there I thought I gave it kind of a look of a gift. This was done prior to adhering the roses on the card. It also helps the car to stay close because of the pop up inside.
To make the 3-D pop up flower inside the card, I used Melon Mambo card stock.
First I printed out the template on copy paper from KarigamiArt then followed the directions on their YouTube tutorial, 'Easy to Make A 3-D Flower Pop-Up Paper Card Tutorial & Free Pattern '.
After cutting out the flower pattern I used with memento black ink and randomly stamped images using the Paisley and Posies stamp set
